Microsoft has confirmed a 10 December launch for Halo 4's Crimson map pack.

The pack, available for 800 Microsoft Points, adds three new maps: Wreckage, Harvest and Shatter

Wreckage is a medium-sized asymmetrical map that supports up to 16 players in Infinity Slayer and up to 12 players in other modes.

Harvest is small to medium-sized which Microsoft said is ideal for Capture the Flag, while also supporting up to 12 players in Infinity Slayer, King of the Hill, SWA and Slayer Pro.

Shatter is the largest of the three new maps, supporting up to 16 players in Infinity Slayer and up to 12 players in other modes.

A new game mode titled Extraction will also be added to the multiplayer on 10 December.

A five versus five objective-based mode, Extraction will task players with obtaining assets from sites around the map.

You can check out a trailer for the Crimson map pack below.

The Crimson pack is the first of three planned add-ons for Halo 4, with the other releases planned for February and April.
