Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has confirmed and released details on upcoming software update 2.50, named Yukimura.

Headlines from the update include streaming frame rate up from 30fps to 60fps for both Remote Play and Share Play and will introduce a feature that allows players to suspend/resume, allowing players to pause and restart the game almost instantly.

The suspend/resume feature means that players will be able to put the console on standby almost immediately without the fear of game progression loss.

In addition, once a trophy has been unlocked, the console will take a screenshot of the acquisition and allow players to share it. Kudos is everything, but not sure whether or not this is particularly useful, unless it’s a particularly stubborn platinum trophy…

Yukimura also introduces a Facebook friend search. The update will let you connect “with your Facebook friends on PS4 using your linked account” meaning you’ll be able to search specifically for PSN users and pull them straight into your friends list.

And for those under-18s who have a PSN account, the update will allow you to upgrade your sub-account to a master account on your birthday.

Along with that there’ll up an update to the UI with inverted screen colours, bigger and bolder fonts, higher contrast options and text-to-speech options.

It’s not been announced when we can expect to see the update, however the Australian post says it’ll available “soon”.
