New Doom given first details

Bethesda has released the first details for the new Doom title, "an origin game reimagining everything about the originals".

In development at id Software and coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC, Doom will bring players to a space station on Mars that's come under attack by demons.

There's a range of large weaponry at your disposal - including a chainsaw - and players will get to stun enemies with weapons before killing them off with their boots.

It'll run at 1080p/60 frames per second and is being build using id Tech 6, a next-gen version of the engine used for Wolfenstein: The New Order.

A release date has yet to be announced.
