Microsoft announces Xbox One without Kinect

Microsoft has announced an Xbox One package that won't have a Kinect bundled in.

The Kinect-less console will cost $399 USD and be available from 9 June.

"Since the beginning, we have focused on delivering great games and entertainment experience for you," said Microsoft.

"Your feedback matters to us and it shapes the products and services we build. Your feedback showed up in the Xbox One console we launched back in November and in the monthly updates we've delivered since.

"Today, we're excited to share more ways your feedback is impacting the products we build."

Fans have been calling out for an Xbox One without Kinect ever since the console's reveal last year.

Many players claim Kinect just didn't do enough to justify the Xbox One's high price tag compared to the PlayStation 4, and was possibly the main reason Sony has taken an early lead in the console race.

This move will surely reinvigorate Xbox One sales as Microsoft's machine can now be purchased for around the same price as a PS4.
