EA to unveil "major" new game at E3

EA will unveil a "major" new game for release this autumn during its E3 2014 presentation.

The publisher revealed the news during its fourth quarter earnings call, and we also found out the game will run on the Frostbite 3 engine.

It could be a new Battlefield or something completely different, but EA said it was "very, very excited" about it.

There were rumours earlier this year that Dead Space developer Visceral Games was working with Ghost Games UK on a police-themed Battlefield spin-off.

EA's E3 presentation is scheduled for 9 June.
