Gamescom 2013 brings in 340,000 visitors

Gamescom 2013 managed to bring in over 340,000 visitors across five days, a leap of 23% over last year's attendance.

The colossal event saw more than 635 exhibitors from 40 countries attend, while there were around 6000 media representatives from 61 countries - including ArabicGamers.

"We have succeeded in further improving the sojourn quality for our visitors, even though with a total attendance figure of 340,000 there were 23% more visitors at the grounds this year than in 2012," said chief operating officer for the Koelnmesse Katharina C. Hamma.

"This is both a huge challenge and a great success for our entire team. Rated according to the average number of visitors per day and exhibition space occupied, the Gamescom clearly heads the rankings of the German major fairs."

Gamescom 2014 has been officially dated for 13-17 August next year.
