NVIDIA and Ubisoft have announced they will work together to create a gaming alliance allowing them to create more realistic gaming worlds.

Ubisoft's chief EMEA marketing and sales officer Geoffroy Sardin said the world's most popular gaming platform would command the attention of the studio.

"[W]e’re committed to offering PC players the best possible experience with our games."

“Combining NVIDIA’s visual computing expertise and the creativity of our development teams will give customers a stunning experience when choosing an Ubisoft game for the PC.”

NVIDIA will develop technology to help create as close to reality as possible animation utilising the power of PCs.

“We’ve worked closely with Ubisoft’s incredibly talented creative teams throughout the development process to incorporate our technologies and deliver the most immersive and visually spectacular game worlds imaginable,” said Tony Tamasi, content and technology boss at NVIDIA.

Interestingly neither NVIDIA nor Ubisoft are members of the already existing PC Gaming Alliance, which includes players such as Alienware, AMD, Intel and Capcom, amongst others.

Ubisoft also announced its partnership with Sony yesterday to create a new Watch Dogs movie. Ubisoft already owns a film department (Ubisoft Motion Pictures) and partnering with Sony would mean at least a successful (or as successful as possible) distribution with one of the world's largest film distributors.

We can probably expect to see Ubisoft at the forefront of what it'd hope would be the evolution of entertainment, blurring the lines between gaming and Hollywood.
