Konami has confirmed a disappointing drop in sales and income for the financial year ending 31 March.

Net revenues for the games business dropped from 140.5billion yen (£898m GBP) last year to 116.4billion yen (£744m) this year.

Operating income was also down from 33billion yen (£210m) to 21.2billion yen (£136m).

Overall game sales for Konami dropped to 13.61million from 18.3million last year, although the company claimed PES 2013 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance "sold steadily".

"We will focus efforts on continued global development utilising the production know-how of the Konami Group, while also continuing the production of content for selected existing AAA titles, and continue to strive towards producing hit titles by leveraging existing content," said Konami.
