Codemasters has released new multiplayer details for upcoming racer Grid 2.

Players can expect to take part in races with up to 11 other people, and there's also a two-player split-screen option for local co-op.

There will be 10 different events for players to take part in, such as LiveRoutes, Endurance, Drift and Checkpoint.

There'll also be full integration with the RaceNet feature, a free online browser-based extension of Grid 2 that tracks a player's progress, rivals and rewards.

The multiplayer will be based on an XP system, so winning more races means you'll earn more XP and cash to spend on new cars and modifications.

You'll also have the chance to upload highlights of your race on to YouTube, so that you can show off your skills to the rest of the world.

Check out the Grid 2 multiplayer screenshots below.

Grid 2 launches 31 May for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
