A new Call of Duty game, but not one which is published by Activision or developed by Infinity Ward or Treyarch, has been revealed on Kickstarter.

The development team, going under the name of Elastic Games, is a group of high profile developers from Ubisoft, Activision, EA and others, have all worked on titles such as Assassin's Creed, Killzone and GTA 4 to name a few.

The game is a multiplayer first person shooter and takes its inspiration from the ridiculous amount of armed robberies that take place in the US. The game pits cops against robbers in the biggest cops and robbers game you'll ever see.

"Imagine a game that draws inspiration from the large scale, multiplayer experience of a title such as Battlefield 3, and combines it with the cops and robbers style of Grant Theft Auto and HEAT," reads the game's Kickstarter page.
"Welcome to Police Warfare; a multiplayer first person shooter set in the world of armed robbery and law enforcement. Players will go toe-to-toe as either a member of the Los Angeles Police SWAT team, or the opposite side of the law, robbing banks as an armed gunman."

The game will be built for digital distribution and will be something players can "pick up and play" for a short amount of time as well as having enough content to keep the hardcore happy too.

The game needs $325,000 USD cash injection before it can be launched, so if you're interested in backing the project, we suggest you make a donation. Currently the game has $13,326 USD pledged. If the target is exceeded, Elastic Games has said it would add more content to the game and expand out from PC only to consoles.

For now, check out the trailer and the screens we have:
