Valve working on new engine

Valve boss Gabe Newell has revealed the studio is working on a new Source Engine.

Members of 4chan visited the company recently and took the chance to ask Newell some questions.

One of them was regarding whether Valve is working on a new engine, which Newell then confirmed.

"We've been working on new engine stuff for a while, we've just been waiting for a game to roll it out with," he said.

Newell stated that he was talking about an entirely new engine instead of a simple extension.

The first Source Engine made its debut with Half-Life 2 back in 2004.
