Konami: PES 2013 a 'new beginning'

Konami has claimed Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 will be a 'new beginning' for the series.

This year the title is set to launch 21 September, one week earlier than main rival FIFA 13.

Konami PR and marketing boss, Brian Ayers, has been talking up the newest PES game and predicting healthy sales figures.

Ayers told MCV: "This is the year where press is opening talking about PES being back to its best.

"There's a very strong buzz out there, and press reaction has been both widespread and positive. This is feeding through to retail that PES is a true title contender, so we are confident this is a new beginning for the series.

"We think PES 2013 is going to be in it for the long-haul, especially now in terms of the 'total lifetime' sales as recommendations are passed on as people play the game."
