DayZ mod for PC will stay free

The creator of DayZ has confirmed the mod for ArmA II will continue to be free.

Dean Hall said he turned down publishers who were interested in distributing the game.

Hall told MCV: "Many, many publishers have contacted me about DayZ.

"But I always ended up repeating the same question: what benefit are you providing development?

"What value is actually being added to the process by publishers when you can distribute for free?"

It was recently announced that DayZ would become a full standalone game.
