SimCity offline mode launching soon

EA and Maxis are finally releasing a long-awaited offline mode update for SimCity.

The city-building game launched last year, but you had to be constantly connected to the internet to be able to play.

This provoked a fierce backlash from the gaming community, especially following server downtime which meant most people couldn't even access their games.

EA is introducing an offline mode now though, and saved games will be stored locally so you can access them whenever you like.

The offline mode should be available for everyone by the end of the day.
