An EA executive has claimed there are some things that 'should've been better' in Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

The shooter launched last year and ended up being a major disappointment for fans and critics alike, so much so that EA even decided to take the IP out of yearly rotation.

Chief creative director at EA, Rich Hilleman, said Warfighter was right in what it was trying to achieve, but there were 'execution' problems.

"We don't think it's a genre problem," he told Rock, Paper Shotgun.

"It was an execution problem. We don't think Medal of Honor's performance speaks to any particular bias in that space against modern settings, World War II, or any of that.

"It's much more that we had some things we should've done better."

Hilleman also suggested that developer Danger Close needed more staff to back up the current talent.

"I think a key part of this is having the right amount of high-quality production talent," he added.

"And we didn't have the quality of leadership we needed to make [Medal of Honor] great. We just have to get the leadership aligned."

While the Medal of Honor franchise is on hold, EA will be focusing on the Battlefield series, with a Battlefield 4 reveal coming in the near future.
