The Secret World drops subscription fee

Funcom has announced that The Secret World will no longer require a subscription fee to play.

Users can now purchase the game for a one-time fee to access all of the content, including the four major add-ons.

Purchasing the game before 31 December will also give users free access to a fifth add-on that would usually cost $5 USD.

The subscription fee is still available to those who wish to pay it, with members granted benefits such as bonus experience points and item-of-the-month gifts.
