I want six face buttons and a D-pad that isn't shit, simply so fighting games work properly. I don't think anyone can argue that the 360's D-pad is the worst thing about it. The actual design of the controller is fine, but that thing... ugh. Six buttons might be a tad intimidating for the casual market, though.

The original Xbox controller was designed for people with a three-foot hand span.

Haven't used Move so I'll refrain from commenting on that, although it seems very much like the Wiimote, which is... well, it's fine, for what it does.

Kinect is an interesting idea that requires far too much space to work properly and still has issues with lag and tracking, but the next iteration will hopefully improve on them (and developers will hopefully have a better idea of how to code for it.) I don't see Kinect being too much use with most games unless they (and it) are heavily redesigned, but I'm happy Microsoft don't appear to be dumping the idea - I think there's a afir bit that can still be done with it.

I agree with the d-pad comment. What is it with d-pads?! They're never any good. They all feel as though they're on there just because they have to be, not because anyone uses them. They're also great for other games where movement on the horizontal axis is imperative.

I don't know, maybe this s the last we'll see of decent d-pads. I think it'll mostly be analogue all the way...

I find Xbox controller better, but the battery pack is a sore spot on their design. The fact that you either have to use AA batteries or buy a rechargeable battery pack is a bit weak when comparing it to Playstation's concealed, all-in-one controller. However, it lacks ergonomic thought, it's too sterile.
