Aliens: Colonial Marines includes female characters

Gearbox has confirmed that Aliens: Colonial Marines will feature female characters.

Females will be playable in both multiplayer and the main campaign in co-op.

The news follows criticism the studio received after claiming the game wouldn't feature any female characters, despite the Aliens franchise featuring a female lead.

Gearbox founder, Randy Pitchford, said: "I want everybody to be clear that there are playable females in both the multiplayer and the campaign.

"We realised some people were starting to feel bad. We exist to entertain people."
