Blizzard is adding a new Paragon end-game leveling system to Diablo 3.

The new system, arriving in patch 1.0.4, gives level 60 players extra experience from defeating enemies that contributes towards Paragon levels.

There are 100 Paragon levels and each time players level up they receive a 3% boost in Magic Find and Gold Find as well as increases in strength, dexterity, intelligence and vitality.

Game director, Jay Wilson, said: "The first Paragon level should take about as long as it took most players to get from level 59 to 60, and the experience requirement will rise from there.

"The time to reach the upper Paragon levels approximates the long-term time investment required to get a level 99 character in Diablo 2."

A players Paragon level will be displayed where the normal level was shown. A border will appear over character portraits to indicate Paragon progression.

Blizzard has not yet announced a date for patch 1.0.4.
