Ubisoft will release a free update for its biker racing game Trials Fusion, early 2015.

The update includes an online multiplayer mode, which will allow four players to play on the Xbox 360, whilst eight players can join on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

PC bikers can access the beta version of the game from today.

The update will contain three online multiplayer modes; Online X-Supercross, Private Game and Private Game with Spectator.

In a press release announcing the changes, Ubisoft said "Online X-Supercross: will allow up to eight bikers race on three random tracks, after which a winner is announced based on an accumulative best score.

"The Private Game will allow up to eight bikers select which tracks to race and customize race parameters such as gravity of the track, modifying bike speed, or inverting the bike’s controls.

"The Private Game with Spectator will give bikers looking to watch online multiplayer select the tracks and parameters for the race and invite eight other bikers to ride so they can kick-back and watch the race. These matches can also be broadcast using streaming platforms."

The update will also introduce teams, which means that bikers can form teams and compete agains rivals and work their way up the leaderboard. Teams can include up to 50 players, each team can communicate via their own bulletin board.

Teams can race each other in private games through the upcoming Online Multiplayer feature.
