The Crew to launch around September

Ubisoft is hoping to release online racer The Crew around September of this year.

The date was taken from a Q&A document handed out to the media, and if correct would put an end to the long wait that fans have had to suffer.

The game was originally scheduled to hit stores earlier in 2014, but was delayed to enhance vehicles handling, online infrastructure and more.

"We know several fans might have been disappointed by this delay but our philosophy is to deliver the best game possible when it is ready," said Ivory Tower.

"Fortunately, Ubisoft's policy is the same in that regard and with their support, we agreed on delivering the best driving experience of this next-generation of consoles."

The Crew is expected to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC simultaneously.
