Upcoming strategy title Command & Conquer will feature enemies from a range of backgrounds, according to development director Tim Morten.

Previously the series included a Global Liberation Army, with members of the group being themed on people from the Middle East.

However now Morten claims the Global Liberation Army is "much more global".

"We really wanted to change that for this Generals game," Morten told ArabicGamers.

"So in the last game, the Global Liberation Army, we didn't say it explicitly but it had a very Middle Eastern theme.

"In this game the Global Liberation Army is much more global. So very deliberately there are members of that organisation that are from all over the world."

Morten added that the story in the next Command & Conquer will take the series to some "interesting places".

"The initial setting for the game is North Africa, so I think we've got a little bit of an environmental feel that is starting to get close to the Middle East, but we'll see how this story plays out.

"I really think it's going to go some interesting places."

We'll have a full video interview with Morten coming up on the site very shortly, so keep checking back for more.
