Nothing had to be altered in Saints Row 4 following the collapse of former publisher THQ and the brand's acquisition by Deep Silver.

Earlier this year THQ's assets were auctioned off after the firm filed for bankruptcy, meaning that several franchises were snapped up by other publishers.

This included the controversy-ridden Saints Row series, and Volition senior producer Jim Boon said that the studio couldn't be happier with the move to Deep Silver.

"The thing that was probably the most nerve wracking for Volition was, whoever buys us, what does it mean for the game?" Boon told ArabicGamers.

"Maybe they want to make changes? Maybe they don't like our style? Maybe they want us to do something totally different?

"We get that our brand of humour is pretty unique so maybe not everyone gets it and maybe not everyone can appreciate it. Even just the way that we conduct business, would they look at our internal practices and say, 'We think you should develop things differently'?"

However Boon said Deep Silver was a great fit for Volition and Saints Row, and almost nothing changed after the acquisition.

"When Deep Silver came in, they just didn't change anything. Literally all of our ideas in the game are our ideas, we didn't have to alter it.

"I often talk about - for the average person at Volition - they don't notice a difference whatsoever between THQ and Deep Silver, it's just been business as usual and it's awesome.

"Really we couldn't ask for any more than that."
