Ubisoft: Far Cry 4 info coming soon

Ubisoft will reveal details on a new Far Cry game "soon", according to vice president of marketing and sales Tony Key.

The executive said that Ubisoft was more than happy with the success of Far Cry 3 and a new game in the franchise is being planned.

"We're totally psyched from [Far Cry 3]," he told Gamespot. "It's a great brand, and now it's got the recognition it deserves, so we're clearly going to make another one: more on that soon."

Key also said that open world games such as Far Cry, and other upcoming Ubisoft titles like Assassin's Creed 4 and Watch Dogs, are the games that consumers are demanding right now.

"I think open world can represent the future of, you know, gaming, and that's where we're investing huge portions of our resources - because we believe that that is what consumers want," he added.

"They don't want linear, they want open [world]."

Far Cry 3 has sold over six million copies since launching November 2012, while spin-off Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is the fastest selling downloadable game in Ubisoft's history.
