Sega and Gearbox have both responded to the lawsuit brought against them involving Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Edelson LLC and plaintiff Damion Perrine are seeking damages for players who bought the game after viewing gameplay demonstrations that didn't match the final product.

Sega and Gearbox have taken strong stances against the lawsuit, with both claiming that it is without merit.

"Sega cannot comment on specifics of ongoing litigation, but we are confident that the lawsuit is without merit and we will defend it vigorously," read a Sega statement.

A Gearbox statement took an even stronger stance, calling the lawsuit "frivolous".

"Attempting to wring a class action lawsuit of a demonstration is beyond meritless," read a statement from the studio.

"We continue to support the game, and will defend the rights of entertainers to share their works-in-progress without fear of frivolous litigation."
