Ubisoft is reportedly bidding for the license to South Park: The Stick of Truth in the THQ asset auction.

Several THQ properties are up for sale during the auction, including Saints Row developer Volition and Company of Heroes studio Relic Entertainment.

The auction is off-limits to most people, however there are several sources close to the matter who have been giving updates via Twitter.

"THQ: Sources indicate Ubisoft has emerged as a contending bidder for certain THQ assets," read a tweet from an investor attending the auction.

Editor of GameLife, Chris Kohler, later tweeted: "Rumor [sic]: South Park goes to Ubisoft."

Koch Media, parent company of Deep Silver (developers of Dead Island), is rumoured to be interested in Volition.

"Also hearing that the high bid for @VolitionInc (and Saints Row, assuming) is *drumroll* @KochMediaUK." tweeted Finger Food Studios Tim Lewinson.

Lewinson also shared details about Sega tabling the highest bid for Relic Entertainment.

He added: "Hearing that the high bid for @Relicgames at the @THQ IP auction is *drumroll* Sega."

The likes of WWE and Metro: Last Light haven't been mentioned so far.

The auction is due to end later today, when the full details will be revealed.
