I have to admit my love for anything by Rockstar, but in particular the Grand Theft Auto games and Red Dead Redemption.
The freedom, storytelling, everything about them is superb. GTA V is definitely one of my most anticipated games of 2013.

BORDERLANDS ALL THE WAY! I love this game, I think it's the best co-op game out there and I feel that the second game is one of those that just made things more amazing.

Not sure I have the patience for GTA anymore. It's gone far too movie like for my liking. I prefer games that allow you to explore the story, rather than force you to pay attention.
For that reason Borderland rocks. Also, another game which I'm loving is Halo again. I've rediscovered it, and Halo Reach is actually a really good game. The mulitplayer online matchmaking is a bit crap, but I'm really looking forward to 4.
And finally, I know I'm going ot get slated for this, but Assassin's Creed, although I hated Revelations - I think they spent far too long with Ezio and not enough with Altair - the game is amazing. I remember the first game and remember just being blown away by the accuracy of the cities.
But if you want old skool games, then the best old skool game has to be Super Mario Bros. Honestly, ont he Gameboy or Afterburner on the Mastersystem. Acually, there are too many old skool games (Streets of Rage, Double Dragon) that rocked.

I just love the art style with Borderlands, makes it stand out so much compared to every other first-person shooter out there.
Assassin's Creed? Loved the second one but Brotherhood and Revelations just felt like add-ons instead of new games. I think the next game will be fantastic.

I hope the next iteration will be good, love the axe! I'm not sure that the American Revolution was the best way to go, I still think Feudal Japan or even the Mongols during Gengis Khan would have been better... but that's just me.

Japan would have been awesome! But at least ship battles are in the next game. I was sceptical at first but they look like a really cool addition.
Batman: Arkham Asylum is another one of my favourites. It mixed action, stealth and story together really well. I haven't got round to playing Arkham City yet but it's definitely on my list.

You need to get on the Arkham City! It's not as good as Asylum in my opinion, but just as dark and moody, with a lot more to do. Much in the way that the second Assassin's or even Prototype was, just more to do.
Going back to GTA, I have to say that the last time I enjoyed GTA was San Andreas...
And, how can one forget Saints Row. Now that is what GTA used to be and should be. Love Saints Row the Third! Amazing game.

I actually wasn't a huge fan of San Andreas. My favourite GTA game of all time would probably be Vice City because I loved the 80s theme, reminded me so much of Scarface.
Then GTA 4, then San Andreas, then GTA 3. Although I know a lot of people would put San Andreas at the top of their lists.
Saints Row is a really fun game, I'll admit. Definitely looking forward to the next one.

I'll allow Vice City, the art style was similar to San Andreas too. So you can have that. And yes, the theme was brill.
Another game I've just remembered spending hours on was World Cup Italia '90 on the Mega Drive. Maybe a little before most peoples time...

Yeah, I can't go back that far, I did play plenty of games on the MegaDrive though. Streets of Rage!
Here's a question, Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat? I always preferred Mortal Kombat for some reason.
